"If you keep on going in the direction you are headed, you're likely to get there."

If you don't like where you are going, correct course!!
Both globally and personally, when you imagine what you would like, when you envision the world in which you would like to live and act in accordance with those ideals, you energize the manifestation of that world. If enough of us, see the mess, but focus on activating what we believe is possible, we will heal the planet. When we focus on what is not good, we feel worse, it gets worse, and the problems become a vicious cycle sucking us into a vortex of misery. That's how evil works.
Finding your center of peace within difficulties, within the human condition is essential. Doing so is different for each person, but you must find the method that works for you. Become aware of what pulls you off balance, then find ways to nip those bad habits in the bud!! We are creatures of habit and must learn to spot what trips us up, learn techniques to stay balanced and then JUST DO IT!
I worked with a man who taught about vicious cycles and vital cycles. In his book The C Zone Peak Performance Under Pressure, Robert Kriegel conceived the high performing type C personality which operated "in the zone" between the high strung type A personality and the under performing type B. Among his many insightful ideas was the concept of vital and vicious cycles. He explained how vital cycles enhance our well being, performance in life and contribution to any group.
Don't get trapped in vicious cycles. The tougher things get in the world at large, the more essential it is that you don't let your mind, your habits, other people, or anything trap you into a cycle of negativity. Stay in the zone.
People talk about getting up on the wrong side of the bed. The day begins. You trip up the stairs and drop your coffee mug. You crack the eggs and the shells break into the pan. The shirt you planned to wear has a spot on it. You are already running late for work. Will you continue the day on this trajectory? in this vicious cycle? or will you stop, regroup, take a deep breath and create a different path? Correct course. Build a vital cycle.
By individually correcting the path we tread, we change our personal destination and the collective as well. We cannot always see how that works, but in some ways it works by the law of exponential notation. For example, if by your personal change you impact only 10 people, then those 10 people impact 10 people and so forth, before long a ripple has spread across the entire pond!!
Behavior can change rapidly. A phenomenon called "the 100th monkey" describes this in action. As best I can remember, sociologists were studying a species of monkey on some South Pacific Island where they ate sweet potatoes as nourishment.. At one point, a single monkey picked up a sweet potato and washed it. Another monkey saw this and did the same. Soon many monkeys were following this behavior. At some point, a "100th monkey" followed and at that point monkeys on surrounding islands began doing the same.
This is similar to how inventions seem to be discovered by several scientists at the same time. Or how many runners broke the 4 minute mile shortly after Roger Bannister shattered that impossible barrier. There is some kind of resonance that spreads when a certain limit is broken. You count in the global consciousness. Your being makes a difference. What note are you adding to the chorus?
You never know if your positive choices will be the ones to tip the scales on this planet from a destructive route to a constructive route. Where are you headed? If it's not where you want to go, start correcting course now.
