Summertime~ Yay

June 1, 2022

Thumbs up McDonalds for this funny television ad from a few years ago. The laugh we all need.

"It's time to head straight for the hills, it's time to live and have some thrills. Come along we'll have a ball a regular free for all. Well we'll go swimmin' every day. No time to work, just time to play. If your folks complain just say, it's summertime..." 1958 Summertime by the Jamies

OMG. What fun. One woman made this song her ringtone for the summer!!. As we head into summer. Remember to bring your heart. The simple things are what bring joy. Difficult to stay in that vibe these days. We can do it and still remain aware of all the dangers and bad news around.

Make a list. What do you want to do. Who do you want to visit. Take the summer off and enjoy it. Read in a hammock, swim in a lake, hike the mountains, have cookouts, surf the ocean. Live as much of the time as you can in your heart, feeling love and celebrating life.

Don't miss a day. Flick away the gloom. Get in the spirit and laugh at your problems. Seek forgiveness. Heal grudges. Stay focused on the good, make an effort everyday to have gratitude.

Many communities have free summer offerings. Do a web search for your community. Boston Central has numerous suggestionss on their website. The Highland Street Foundation in Massachusetts once hosted Free Fun Fridays throughout the summer. Each Friday 6 or 7 activities throughout the state were offered There were art museums, historical homes, botanical gardens, nature sanctuaries, working farms, historic plantations and live performances. The visits were highly enriching and pleasurable. When the program ended, we continued Friday outings on our own.. Create your own list of Fun Fridays, wherever you live, and just do it!

Get in the summer mood and make a list of what you would like to do this season. Dive into the wonder of living and the many possibilities to explore. It may not be the official start of summer, but let the fun begin.
