It's All About Money$$$$$$$$$$

"There are always pockets of prosperity, even in difficult times." ~my friend Peter

Money is what motivates much of our lives – the work we do, the clothes we wear, the houses we live in, even sometimes the person we marry.

Right now it is a big issue for many people around the world. Oil prices, food shortages, inflation, stock market crashing, cryptos, interest rates rising. These conditions have a domino affect on our lives and cause people great fear. The conditions ahead are not looking so good for many at all levels of the money spectrum, so we need to buffer ourselves for whatever is to come.

Be ready to navigate difficult waters, but understand that money is largely an attitude and that it is possible to live abundantly in the worst of times. Money is a feeling and the more you have the feeling, the more you will attract it to you.

Money is power. The more you have, the more you can do what you want. The more you have, the more leverage you have. Yet people find that power and leverage even in homeless shelters. Leverage has a lot to do with believing in yourself, having confidence and knowing how to negotiate. All these things can be learned.

Discover your weaknesses and firm them up. Plug up the holes, whatever it takes. Sometimes just losing weight increases your power, attractiveness and self confidence and that in turn boosts your ability to make the changes you desire.

How can you prosper in todays economy? Don't be a victim. Don't let fear and worry run you. Ride the waves of change. People do not like upset, change or rocking boats, but that is life. There are storms from time to time.

Get rid of the junk in your life. Sell, give away, bring to the dump. If you need something, try thrift stores. There are amazing finds at thrift stores. My neighbor in Florida has done a brilliant job decorating her home from thrift stores. She has created the most exquisite style in her condo. It is elegant, breezy, modern and comfortable. We have a swap shop at the town transfer station (the dump-where do they come up with these names?????) which has amazing finds for free!! Every community should start a swap shop at the town dump.

There are many possibilities for surviving and thriving, but you may have to change your current lifestyle. Evaluate what you love and what is necessary and find ways to maintain that. If you are really struggling, check out local and government aid. There are so many places that give things away for free. Churches are also good sources of aid.

If you are struggling to maintain housing, you may have to move to a cheaper area. Begin a job search. Check out cost of living in different locales. If you have had your internet cut off, go to the library or a cafe and use that internet connection. Be sure you know how to safeguard your information if you do. If you are not in dire straits, perhaps it is time to downsize and pay off your mortgage. Have fun looking for a new style of living.

Bigger is not always better. We have the ugliest McMansions in this town. I can understand how they make people feel they are living in a castle, but they look so sterile and unfeeling. There is a cozy cottage overlooking Red Wing Bay on the Charles River here in Massachusetts. It is the most beautiful spot. Serene, right on the river with a dock and a canoe. The afternoon sun streams across the river and the swallows swoop and dive over it. Nearby is a bridge with a softly pounding waterfall you can slightly hear.

I can imagine having the richest life living there. Rising to the sunlight streaming across the water. Coffee on the deck, while eggs and bacon cook on the kitchen stove. Moonlight streaming through the bedroom window upstairs. The house is small, but it means less stuff to tend! You would be amazed at what you can do without. When you streamline to what is necessary and cherished, you live a richer life.

Never give up on creating more money. If money is a lot about attitude, then downsizing may streamline your thinking into a more powerful and abundant attitude. That new feeling may birth new ideas and connections which increase your earning and wealth. We will all likely be forced to make changes in the coming months ahead. Let go of fear and worry. Begin to make necessary and smart changes now.

We may transform this world into something better if we first improve our own circumstances, then get together with friends and neighbors to build efficient communities. Sharing those ideas with other communities will transform the world from the grass roots level. It all begins at home. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."
