"Some men see things as they are and ask why, I dream of things that never were and ask, why not?" Robert F Kennedy
The world is in the midst of big changes! In politics, religion, spirituality, economics, environment, you name it!! People often feel hopeless to affect what is evolving, but we are not. By establishing a personal vision of how we would like the world to be in the midst of all this change, we enhance the collective result.
Consider your values, what you love and what inspires you. People you admire, activities you love, and standards which work offer hints of your core values. Novels and movies you loved, images from magazines, activities of neighbors, places you have visited can all be sources of inspiration for your vision. Note what motivates you and informs a vision of how you want your world to be.
Too many people are shaping their world from the outside. Too many are forming opinions by what the "experts" say. Many of the experts are totally screwed up. The craziest person I ever met was a psychiatrist. He was hopelessly lost and exuded no joy. In every field we have those whose aim is to create positivity and those who are fraudulent, corrupt or power hungry. Vision and heart are essential to creating a sustainable and abundant life.
Many technocrats are obsessed with their toys, making the future in their own image with no real care for the greater good. Their ideas are often devoid of life, beauty and prosperity. Their worldview is an unfeeling reality, often numb and frozen. Humans need the real feeling of sand in their toes, the real smell of freshly mowed grass, the real sound of birds singing; not the meta verse version. Just because something is "advanced" doesn't mean it is better.
Decide what YOU want, personally and globally. Make a list. Look for images or memories of what makes you happy. Follow up on ideas you have, speak with other people, consult those whom you trust and admire or "go shopping" for it . Go to places you love and collect ideas.
Make a vision board. Collect pictures of what inspires. Let the imagery motivate you. An image of someone jogging can inspire your own workouts. A picture of a home you love can guide your search for a new home or inspire redecorating your existing home. A beautiful picture of your favorite beach may motivate you to join a group dedicated to cleaning up the oceans or to do something locally. Get involved.
Visioning is powerful. It affects change in the physical world. The more you can feel your desired reality emerging... the closer it is getting. The easier it is to manifest. If it is difficult to see, collect pictures and post them somewhere visible. Those images will impact your mind like tv advertising, but they will brainwash with what YOU want to manifest.
Think globally, act locally. If you see things that worry you in the global picture, act at a local or personal level to fix it. If your concern is the oceans, research the problem, correct your own behavior, do what you can locally and find organizations that share your concerns. Contribute or become a member. Always check out the backing of these organizations. Make sure you know who is funding, the agenda, any hidden agendas and where the money goes. Form a local chapter. If children and schools are your concern, join the PTA, run for school committee, become involved, search the matter out. Becoming engaged in what you love will inspire your own life and contribute to solving issues on a global scale.
If you think food shortages will be a problem, stock your own cupboard. Talk to folks in your community; grocers, farmers, suppliers etc. Gather information. Find local sources of food. Determine your own skills should you need to barter. Grow a bigger garden. Join a community garden. How can you solve the food supply problem at your local level? Check things out. Act locally.
Empower yourself and then assist your community. Establish a personal vision and how that fits in your community and the world at large. Put effort into what matters to you the most. Act on the nudges your intuition is giving you.
Trust that by following your deep needs and passions, you will be in the right place at the right time, doing your part to build a better world. Be a good example of what you love.
Enjoy all the parts of your life. Don't be a victim, be a creator. Add your voice. Write your script. Imagine your part and play your role to the hilt. Think about the whole world, but nourish your own little corner of it, beginning with yourself!
