"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times...It was the season of light. It was the season of darkness. It was the spring of hope. It was the winter of despair..." Charles Dickens/A Tale of Two Cities
Sometimes life is easy, at other times we face challenge after challenge. No matter what you face, life is more fulfilling when you realize that you are the star of your own show, the hero of your own journey, the master of your fate. Find your focus, your values, your goals and commit to creating something beautiful. Be a creator not a victim.
Find your dream. What did you love to do as a child? What made you most happy? When did you feel most fully alive? Climbing trees? Investigating things? Creating art? Running? Cooking? Being outdoors? Reading in a cozy corner? Playing games with friends? Being a leader? Supporting a cause? Talking to people? Analyzing things? Building things? Do you currently have some element of what you loved as a child in your life now? Wherever you are...find a way to express the essence of you!
Bring your dream into your everyday experience. Create your day so that it includes elements of what you love. What do you need? More movement? More rest? Change of diet? Stimulating entertainment? Quiet time? Walks on the beach? An engaging book? A trip to the movies? A craft project? A potting shed in the backyard? A competitive sport? A bridge group? Acting classes? Whatever you can do or dream you can... begin it now!!
What will open up your world and stimulate your life? Pick one thing and make it happen. Buy flowers or a lovely, scented exotic candle or a new hat or scarf or golf club to symbolize your fresh start. What simple thing would you really love? Have fun choosing this item.
A single inspired act gets the ball rolling, engages the flow and breaks a stalemate. How can you make your current situation more fulfilling?? Identify what you need. Often something small will spark a fresh start. Gather materials. Go shopping. Perhaps it's just a lift in your day that you need or perhaps you are creating a whole new life or are simply fine tuning your current routine.
What will make your life easier? A conversation? A raise? A new healing therapy? A second opinion? Rest? Reflection? A good cry? Faith? Patience? Spiritual alignment? Do you need to persevere and master your challenge or surrender to it? Sometimes surrender opens a door. Sometimes pushing too hard blocks solutions. Sometimes you need to act, to overcome inertia. Be a creator not a victim.
Those who put their heart into their life make the world a better place. Make your life work. Don't give up. Face your circumstances. Be gentle with yourself. Step up your game and succeed at what you are doing. You are an influencer of whomever you touch.
My sister was never able to overcome the paranoid schizophrenia that she was diagnosed with as a teen. Many would have thought she failed. But when she passed away at 63 years old, we all realized that she had led one of the most successful lives of anyone we knew. She persevered. She never gave up. She loved others, but stood her ground. She knew her rights. She took pleasure in the little things. She embraced her conditions but never gave in to thinking she was less than anyone else.
The power is inside YOU to be the star and hero of your own life story and by so doing inspire and uplift others. The world is falling apart. Be true to yourself. You may be the one who will tip the balance to save this planet from darkness. And so the journey begins…..
