"i thank you God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of sky and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes (i who have died am alive again today, and this is the suns birthday..." ee cummings

Inspiration is everywhere. It is all around you. It will wake you up and make your world new when you open to it. Inspiration guides you to what you want. It connects you with something inside you that desires expression. It reminds you of the light and beauty which exists in this world.

Everyone is inspired by different things and what inspires us can change over time. What inspires you?? Images of Energy? Activity? Adventure?? Travel to different cultures? Images of sports and fitness? Leadership?? Good health?? Are ease, relaxation and peace more appealing at the moment? Are you inspired by Practicality? Beauty? Charity? Inspiration uplifts, motivates and gives direction. It is a key to your essence, to your potential.

Find ways to include inspired activities in your life. You may not be able to travel the world, but you can visit local museums or rent movies and documentaries about distant locations. You can join a travel club or a cooking class to explore some exotic cuisine. If you are not able to have children, you can adopt, be a big sister or find some other way to channel those mothering instincts. You might direct that nurturing energy into an important project. You will be amazed at how small inspired steps can expand your world and lead to new, unexpected satisfactions.

Inspiration is a blueprint for your life!! Use it as a model to create some fun and bring your potential into full bloom. You can use it to guide your whole life or just a small part of it. Perhaps you are inspired when you see someone comfortably reading in an easy chair. Perhaps that image is hinting that you need to create a cozy nook and escape into a good book. Perhaps you are inspired by people fixing things. Create a space in your garage to do just that!!

Include inspiration in your life. Flowers on the kitchen table. A small volume of poetry or favorite prayers on your night table. A new pair of cozy winter boots that make you want to go outside and walk in the snow. A stack of sports magazines by your easy chair. If you don't have money, thrift shops are full of amazing and often brand new finds. Put some wildflowers into a food jar with an interesting label. Simple living is often the most inspiring. Declutter. Appreciate simple things. A cool glass of water. A hug from your child. A chat with a friend. You don't need to be rich to bring inspiration into your world.

Pictures which inspire can create leaps in your potential and performance. If inspired by someone leading a group, model that behavior. Own it. If inspired by a favorite athlete, act as if you are that athlete when playing your sport. It will sharpen your focus and improve your performance. Whomever you admire, apply that behavior to your day and watch your skills grow. It is exhausting to reach for that level of performance, but SO rewarding and effective.

Lastly, if you are stuck with a problem or just plain bored...go shopping for inspiration. Go someplace beautiful or inspiring and let go of the problem. Get lost in the activity...a hike, a beautiful store, a library, a football game, a beach, an elegant restaurant, a bench in the park. Often the problem solves itself when your head is not so busy thinking!!!!!!) You will be refreshed with enthusiastic energy.

One afternoon when I had many tasks, I wanted to go outside and rake some leaves. Logic said there was no time to dilly dally outdoors, but I surrendered to my intuition and spent a few moments in the fresh air with the autumn vibes. When I returned to my tasks, I was so refreshed that I completed them in half the time. Going outdoors had given my mental, emotional and physical energy a huge boost enabling me to work in a more focused, energized way. Inspiration can be very practical.

Use inspiration to keep your energy up, to guide you to new activities and life changes, to expand your world, to solve problems. Inspiration is not a frivolous tool. It is one of life's most practical gifts. Note what inspires you today and let it give you a lift OR be the beginning of a whole new adventure!
